Personal Protective Equipment
Protective Face Masks
With all the recent news of COVID-19 and the number of requests that we have received from our clients about medical masks, we have spoken to our suppliers and have been able to purchase a shipment of level 1 grade medical masks.
Since Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies are running low for our health care workers on the front line, we have done our duty and notified the government of Canada that the shipment of PPE is available to them first, should they want it.
The remaining stock, if any remain, will be available to our clients. We understand that there have been price gouging for medical masks during this pandemic and it is not our intention to do that. However, with recent demand and current lack of supply from the main manufacturers in China, the wholesale price of the medical masks have been increased by manufacturers. Their explanation is that due to the recent demand, the short supply of raw materials to produce the medical masks have forced the prices up.
Having said all this, we are able to offer the masks at the following prices:
- 10 Mask Bag (Medical Grade) – $12 + tax per bag
- 100 Mask Box (Medical Grade) – $100 + tax per bag
At this time, we are currently taking pre-orders. Please contact us if you wish to submit your name for a pre-order.
Q & A
Different Mask Types
There are a lot of different standards when evaluating a mask.
Don’t be fooled into thinking you are receiving a certain type of mask when you actually are not.
The 3 main standards that you need to know right now are:
- EN 14683 – Europen Standard (CE)
- ASTM – ASTM International
- CNAS – China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment
Every manufacturer should be able to provide you with lab test results to prove their masks meets a certain level.
The following tables will help you distinguish between the different types of masks.
|EN 14683||Type I||Used in general medical environments to block the pollutants exhaled and sprayed from the mouth and nose|

|EN 14683||Type IIR||Ideal for procedures where moderate to light amounts of fluid, spray and/or aerosols are produced – Equivalent to ASTM F2100 Level 2|
